HOLO EDITORIAL LAYERING PROCESS (H.E.L.P.)

History of the invention

FX PROJECT

The aim of the original research project titled: FX PROJECT was to test the range of possibilities in pictorial representation and rendering of in-camera cinematographic special effects when using high definition digital tools.

An American Patent

The analysis of our results led us to file in a patent for a technical invention that we’ve named Holo Editorial Layering Process (H.E.L.P.) The American Patent has been granted in 2007.

Short description of the advantages of H.E.L.P.

In addition to allowing the Filmmaker to keep total control over depth of field (image sharpness), shot by shot, using any shooting medium (35mm, S16mm, HD, etc), H.E.L.P. can replace blue or green screen Chroma-Key techniques.

It permits Filmmakers to shoot, on set, final composited images and an array of special effects that do not require any further work at post-production stage.

It provides Directors and Cinematographers with the full spectrum of aesthetic choice in framing, subtle lighting, freedom of movement and staging possibilities while reducing film budgets up to 50% in the most costly departments. Very good news for Independent Filmmakers.

The invention is a digital process that cannot be outdated since the network of tools used can evolve without affecting the principle of the invention.

H.E.L.P. has now reached its commercialization stage.

With our Business Advisor, Martin Fontaine, our aim this year is to find a business partner and open a permanent studio dedicated to the production of special effects, including selling licenses to use H.E.L.P in exclusivity. As the best way to avoid being copied is to make the technology available to the International Film Community, the business plan foresees expanding the company’s activity soon after in the United States and in Europe.
